After drumming up a lot of buzz with the first footage of Madden NFL 16, along with revealing that Odell Beckham Jr. will grace the cover, gamers may have forgotten about the other offerings from EA Sports like FIFA, NBA Live and NHL.

Well EA has taken care of making everyone happy by finally releasing some news on the anticipated NHL 16 game title.

This week, EA Sports has announced the first details regarding NHL 16  including a release date window, new game modes and features that will be included in this year’s offering.

Firstly, the release date for NHL 16 will be sometime during September 2015. With Madden titles normally launching in October, you can expect an early September release date for NHL 16 to get the fans pumped before they drop the new Madden.

“Team has been the heart of hockey for as long as it’s existed, and this year it’s at the heart of NHL 16. We looked to our biggest fans and asked them to be a part of our team. Their most requested features and modes are in the game and include new experiences that make NHL bigger and better. On the ice, team carries through to our game play, with innovation and balance at every position, so that each role is meaningful to play. In NHL 16, success is a total team effort, the result of everyone understanding that you never do it alone. You have to play as a team and win as a team.”

So what does that all mean for all you gamers out there? It means better features and game modes. For starters, in “Hockey Ultimate Team” you’ll now be able to play through single player offline seasons. “In Be a GM”, not only will you navigate the rigors of draft day and manage your AHL affiliate team, but now you can also manage the morale of individual players on your NHL roster throughout the season. And then there is “Be a Pro”, which brings back features like ‘SIM to the Next Shift’ and the ability to start your career in the minors and also introduces a brand new progression system where how you play on the ice, shapes who you become in your career.

Check out all the changes in great detail at the NHL 16 blog.
