Twitter Search Function Rummages Through Historic Tweets Now

The Twitter blog saw the pen, or rather, keyboard (virtual or otherwise) of Twitter search infrastructure engineer Paul Burstein explain Twitter’s intention to assist users in getting “the best content” for their queries. Paul said, “Yesterday, we updated our Android, iOS and mobile web apps to make it easier for you to find relevant content when you’re on the go. We also started to roll out an additional update: you’ll now be able to find older tweets using search. Previously, Twitter search results displayed tweets going back about a week. We’ve developed a way to include older tweets.”

Hmmm, search has always been one important aspect when using a computer, whether you are looking for files on your local drive(s), or narrowing down on information on the Internet. It is then interesting to note that social networks, too, have jumped aboard this bandwagon, and would be more than welcome considering how the number of posts made every day on Twitter is increasing constantly.
